William Eccleshare has a history degree from Cambridge and has spent his career in advertising.
He has been CEO of J Walter Thompson (in London and Amsterdam) and Lintas UK and been Chairman and CEO of the European networks of Young and Rubicam (2002-5) and BBDO (2005-9). He also spent three years as a Partner at McKinsey leading the firm’s European Branding Practice.
In 2009 William became President and CEO of Clear Channel International, and in January this year was named CEO of Clear Chanel Outdoor with responsibility for the company’s OOH assets across the globe. William is also a non-executive director of Hays plc the world’s leading specialist recruitment firm and a governor of University College School in London.
He follows British politics and Bruce Springsteen and runs marathons – all with an equally unhealthy obsession.
